Holiday home: a mains-powered ATE or an ATG without electricity?

For a holiday home, check whether electricity remains available during absences. Also decide who can observe the building and report a leak or other incident.

Before choosing equipment, prepare a plan and dated photographs. Help Humidité provides product pages and instructions so you can examine the reference and positioning before purchase. If the moisture cause remains uncertain, clarify it before deciding on treatment and identify any independent repairs still needed.

Describe how the home is actually used

Record closure periods, heating, ventilation and routine power interruptions. An occasionally occupied home can have several moisture issues. Rising damp should not be confused with a leak or condensation associated with use and cold surfaces. A masonry device does not replace building maintenance or an appropriate examination of incoming water. These points should be documented before comparing models.

Compare power and follow-up arrangements

ATE LC15, ATE LC30, ATE LC30 PULSE and ATE MAX require mains electricity. ATG LC15 and ATG LC30 work without electricity. Position and coverage still need checking against the plan. Keep dated photographs and compare the same areas on each visit. If possible, arrange for someone to report incidents after heavy rain. Time spent away from the house is not enough to decide that damaged finishes are ready to replace.

Before you decide

  • Document the walls and possible water sources.
  • Check the model and installation instructions.
  • Separate fitting, monitoring and reinstatement of finishes.

A practical question

Does an ATG remove the need to observe the building?

No. Working without an electrical connection does not remove the positioning instructions or the need to address other moisture sources.

Compare our wall drying devices

The range includes mains-powered ATE LC15, ATE LC30, ATE LC30 PULSE and ATE MAX, alongside ATG LC15 and ATG LC30 without electricity. The devices are manufactured in Castres, France. Compare the diameter with the building layout and follow the instructions. The manufacturer’s 10-year warranty applies under its conditions. The device does not replace independent interventions on leaks, penetrating water or ventilation.
